God's perfect timing 03/03/2010
Ecclesiastes 3: 1-4 reads "For everything there is an appointed time, and an appropriate time for every activity on earth: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to uproot what was planted; A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance." King Solomon, who penned these words, was considered by many scholars to be the wisest man who ever lived on earth. What Solomon understood, and wanted us to grasp, is that there is no reason to worry or fret about the things going on around us that we can not control or change. Everything that happens is ordered by God and He alone is in control. If we honestly believe this simple truth, we can find peace in the midst of the chaotic times in which we live. Happiness will never be found in our accomplishments or in the wealth we may accumulate. Solomon taught us that we can enjoy every moment of life, every conversation, every experience, if we remember it is all part of God's plan. I believe that there are NO COINCIDENCES WITH GOD. There is a purpose for everything that happens to us, good or bad. There is a reason for every person that comes into our pathway. We just get so caught up trying to survive our busy schedules that we miss many of the simple pleasures of life. God created everything that is, and He is still in control today. Take time to be alone with God today, and ask Him for the wisdom to enjoy every moment and every experience. Knowing God is the secret to enjoying life - He is enough and it is really that simple!
